Job purpose
Carries out complex aspects of fieldwork whilst supervising the work of assistants. Is frequently the senior responsible for fieldwork and day-to-day staff and client relations.
Your key responsibilities
- Takes an increasingly responsible role in all aspects of the preparation and control of engagements and carries thorough approved audit within agreed time budgets
- Review the work of allocated staff, answering all but the most difficult fieldwork queries and ensuring that files are brought to a proper standard for supervisory or managerial review
- Performs such detailed fieldwork as may be required
- Applies the theory and principles of accounting and the objectives, standards and procedures of auditing to client situations
- Applies an understanding of clients’ systems and procedures, and their own overall business operations and industries
- Prepares the final output of an engagement including drafting statutory accounts, management letters and reports
- Keeps engagement managers adequately informed as to progress on engagements
- Maintain close contact with clients throughout engagements to ensuring continuing good relations and the effective completion of work. Promotes the full range of services to existing clients
- Takes part in discussions at client or other meetings
- Assists in on-the-job training and development of junior staff
Requirements
- University graduate - Economics/ Finance/Accounting/Banking
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Prior experience in professional services firms
- Completed or in progress of completing a professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA)
