On behalf of our client, a leading company active in the agricultural machinery industry, we are looking for a Business Controller.
Manage revenue and related expense reporting for Business Units (“BU”), thereby ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results, comparative analysis and commentary to BU leaders and Finance team.
Understand business / economic / environmental drivers of Actual results versus Operating Plan and Forecast. Ensure financial planning processes for revenue and direct expenses – strategically capture, carefully estimate and skillfully communicate business impacting events.
Anticipate changes, seek better practices and contribute to the company as a whole to be successful in its aims. Provides operational risk management support to the business units and ensure proper business performance management through profitability and operational analyses.
Use data modelling practices to analyse findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes.
Plays a key role in financial planning and analysis to support management decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create and use financial models to forecast and capacity for the preparation of budgets, long-term projections, variance explanations, and other financial reports.
Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting.
Establish and maintain financial reports on business units.
Oversee business control, planning and management reporting.
Review and analyse working capital to achieve optimisation.
Prepare balance sheet for various business units and ensure effectiveness of process.
Oversee month-end closing of accounts, identify issues, compare with year-ago results and projections.
Requirements / capabilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business analysis or a related field.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills - ability to formulate and understand business issues, situations or problems by breaking them down into smaller parts and analyze them. Interpret data and draw conclusions and provide focused guidance.
Flexibility - the ability to live and act in a climate of change. Handle stress and demands in a calm thoughtful manner with the ability to prioritize, monitor and control operations.
Initiative and responsibility - Willingness to act pro-actively by identifying opportunities and anticipate changes.
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
Excellent documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English.
Open minded, logical and analytical approach to tasks and be able to review, adapt and develop existing procedures and processes.
Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
