On behalf of our Client, a leading European Holding that owns companies in real estate, retail, logistics and IT& C sectors, we are looking to recruit a Chief Internal Auditor.

 

Position overview

Chief Internal Auditor plans, performs, manages and co-ordinates all internal audit work across the Group. The Chief Internal Auditor conducts independent and objective assessments of business processes, systems, and risk management activities, providing accountability for risk mitigation while offering value-added recommendations for enhanced performance. The Chief Internal Auditor will be compiling reports to auditees, senior management and the Audit Committee as appropriate, and will be operating in accordance with applicable professional standards and practices.

 

Principle duties and responsibilities

CIA is responsible to plan, perform, manage and co-ordinate all internal audit work across the Group reporting to audits, senior management and the Audit Committee as appropriate and operating in accordance with applicable professional standards and practices.

 

Principle duties and responsibilities

  • To maintain a working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice and departmental policies and ensure these are adhered to;
  • To be responsible for preparation of long term and short term audit plans having regard to appropriate measures of risk;
  • To be responsible for reporting audit findings to the Board as appropriate;
  • To ensure that the Audit division is managed such that audit plans are achieved;
  • To be responsible for logging, tracking and managing the status of unactioned observations.

 

Qualifications & skills

  • Knowledge of a specialised field such as accounting, credit control, management services, marketing etc;
  • Broad knowledge of a general field eg finance, commerce, business administration, marketing or personnel;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of an advanced, specialised, highly technical or commercial field;
  • The successful candidate, a Certified Public Accountant, will have held a similar role for more than three years, ideally in a major, international-focused organisation;
  • Excellent analytical skills particularly in applying, analyzing and presenting data are essential;
  • Willingness to travel extensively is essential.
