On behalf of our client, an important FMCG company, we are currently recruiting a Tax & Statutory Reporting Manager

Mission of the role: Ensure compliance of local statutory and tax reporting with group tax policies and applicable tax regulations and laws


Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure that financial processes are in place to comply with all tax obligations (group tax policies and applicable tax regulations and laws)
  • Support and advise the General Accounting team in monthly tax calculation and reporting (current and deferred corporation tax, VAT, other taxes) for legal entities located in the country
  • Lead the preparation of corporation tax returns for all legal entities and ensure submission on time and in full
  • Support and advice the local businesses and shared service team on forecasting the tax impact of operations, from a P&L and cash point of view
  • Monitor tax risks and opportunities and lead projects to generate tax savings and mitigate tax risks
  • Manage statutory accounting, reporting and submission process for all legal entities in the country and ensure timely, accurate and correct submission
  • Managing relationship with tax authorities (including managing tax audits) in close cooperation with local finance teams
  • Ensure reliability of tax Master Data
  • Act as the key contact for all tax and statutory reporting related matters in the country
  • Maintain up to date tax and statutory reporting knowledge applicable to the company
  • Liaison with external tax advisors and statutory financial auditors
  • Establishment of effective procedures and process improvements within the company



  • Bachelor or master degree (Tax, Law or Accounting and Finance or related field)
  • Around 8 years working experience in an accounting or finance management position either gained as an in-house tax / accounting manager or BIG4
  • Worked in a multinational environment 
  • Romanian chartered accountant certification is a must
  • ACCA, chartered tax advisor or equivalent related certificate would be an asset
  • Proficiency in local tax and statutory reporting regulations
  • Good understanding of international tax principles
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of tax and statutory accounting under IFRS (detailed understanding can be learned on the job)
  • Ability and skill to delivering continuous improvement in organisation and processes and deliver KPIs
  • Experience in managing effectively stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Open but authoritative to make pragmatic decisions to take account of these different stakeholders
  • Highly structured thinker and communicator with the ability to communicate effectively and explain complex tax issues in a simple way
  • Good analytical skills, flexible, creative and results oriented
  • Well-structured, highly planned and organized personality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust with the team as well as with suppliers and relevant functions in the country
  • Ability to work in stress and able to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of another language is a plus
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ERP system (SAP/Navision)
